Simplicity

I met a man and fell in love and now my life has completely changed. He inspires me to be a better person, to love better and unconditionally. He teaches me how to be humble and challenges me to be confident. He sees my weaknesses as possibilities and loves me the same. He has stood by me in good times and in bad times. He keeps me from giving up when things get hard and cheers me on when things are going well. He is my rock.

I’ve known Him my whole life but in the last five years or so we have taken our relationship to a deeper level. We have grown so much together. I’ve learned so much about myself from being with Him. It’s finally come time for us to take our relationship to the next level.

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, this man’s name is Jesus. He’s asked me to step out on the water and follow Him and I’ve said yes. I will be entering the Franciscan Sisters T.O.R. of Penance of the Sorrowful Mother on May 31, 2016 to begin formation to become (God willing) a consecrated woman religious, aka a nun.

I am extremely excited and filled with so much peace about this. It has been something on my heart for years now and for it to be finally happening is a dream come true.

I’ve known for awhile now and I’ve been slow about telling people this incredible news. It’s not that I am not excited or am questioning where Jesus is leading me, it’s a lot of things. But I’ve been challenged to remember what this is all about, and that’s love. Jesus loves me and I love Him and I am making this choice out of love. And why shouldn’t I share that with everyone I know? Why shouldn’t I shout from the rooftops?

I have fallen in love with a man and we are about to start our life together and I couldn’t be happier.

This choice is radical and it comes with a lot of sacrifices but every choice we make in life does. If you have questions about what this all means don’t hesitate to hit me up. I’d be more than happy to help you understand. There will be more blog posts coming in the next few months before I enter, however, this blog will no longer be updated after I leave.

Know of my prayers for you! I appreciate any prayers sent my way!
